Minimally Invasive Surgery for Students – Business Engineering and Surgical Technologies created by the IRCAD, a non-profit organisation dedicated to research, teaching and innovation in the field of Minimally Invasive Surgery, is an educational and interactive program aimed at proactive and inspired students with an interest in the future and development of Minimally Invasive Surgery.
What is B.E.S.T?
The B.E.S.T. program was created in 2012. Our objective is to educate our audience in Minimally Invasive Surgical Strategies (MISS), regardless of their professional background, to make this training appealing, and to spur surgical innovation. Education is provided through the Business Engineering and Surgical Technologies (B.E.S.T) education program, using the web and courses presented by the IHU Strasbourg, France.
The goal of the Business Engineering and Surgical Technologies (B.E.S.T) teaching method is to provide worldwide high quality, modern and comprehensive education in minimally invasive surgical strategies and technologies among young professionals in medicine, engineering and business. Through on-line interactive broadcasting and on-site teaching modules, the B.E.S.T program functions as a talent incubator educating and inspiring young professionals worldwide completely free of charge.

The IRCAD center, recognized worldwide as the reference center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, is launching in Taiwan an unprecedented program that combines surgery, entrepreneurship and engineering, encouraging students to throw away the rule book and rise to the challenge from 2017. Positioned at the cutting-edge of surgery, medical technology, and teaching, IRCAD-Taiwan has the unique capacity to challenge, inspire and unlock the potential of a new generation of med-tech and MIS leaders. Casting off the constraints of conventional, single disciplinary study, the course is all about experimentation, testing and learning together.
The 5 days boot camp is designed for the students to experience the IRCAD-Taiwan philosophy of innovation and provides exposure to the latest developments in MIS techniques and technologies, while interacting with top international experts. The entire program is designed not only for students’ interests but also for industry partners, which is the B.E.S.T. way for learning BIODESIGN.
