IRCAD Worldwide
IRCAD Taiwan is part of the globally recognized IRCAD network, established to provide advanced surgical training and education worldwide. As one of the key mirror centers, IRCAD Taiwan delivers the same high-standard programs and facilities pioneered in Strasbourg—adapted to meet the evolving needs of the Asia-Pacific region.
Through this global connection, IRCAD Taiwan welcomes surgeons from around the world to benefit from hands-on experience, expert faculty, and international collaboration in minimally invasive surgery.

Strasbourg – France
Founded in 1994 by Professor Jacques Marescaux, IRCAD Strasbourg is the original institute in the global network. It is recognized worldwide for its leadership in minimally invasive surgical training, research, and innovation, and serves as the model for all IRCAD centers established across continents.
Barretos – Brazil
Established in 2011 through a partnership with Hospital de Amor and Henrique Prata, IRCAD Barretos is the first mirror institute in Latin America. It serves as a major hub for advanced training in minimally invasive surgery across the region.
Rio de Janeiro – Brazil
Inaugurated in 2017, IRCAD Rio de Janeiro was established through a partnership with UnitedHealth Group and its former CEO, Edson Bueno. As the second IRCAD center in Brazil, it extends the institute’s mission to advance minimally invasive surgical training across Latin America.
Beirut – Lebanon
Established in 2019 through a partnership with the French Hospital of the Levant, IRCAD Lebanon strengthens the institute’s presence in the Middle East. It provides hands-on surgical training and live broadcasts of procedures from IRCAD France.
Kigali – Rwanda
Opened in October 2023, IRCAD Africa is the first IRCAD center on the continent, established through a partnership between IRCAD France and the Rwandan government. Located within Kigali Health City, it serves as a regional hub for minimally invasive surgical training and research, aiming to enhance access to advanced surgical care across Africa.
Wuxi – China
IRCAD China is being developed in partnership with South Korea’s SK Group within a medical complex in Wuxi. The center aims to strengthen surgical education and research in East Asia, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques.
Charlotte – North America
IRCAD North America is being developed in Charlotte, North Carolina, through a partnership with Atrium Health. Located in The Pearl Innovation District, it aims to become a leading hub for surgical education, innovation, and research in the United States.

Indore – India
IRCAD India officially opened in October 2024 in collaboration with Sri Aurobindo University (SAU) in Indore. As the first IRCAD center in South Asia, it offers advanced training in minimally invasive surgery and facilitates hands-on experience for graduates within SAU’s surgical theaters.
